AP’s CRPF camp controls Sagar Dam

Nalgonda: The 234th Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), based in Visakhapatnam, took over the safety responsibilities of the Nagarjunasagar Dam, attracting the attention of officials from Telangana irrigation departments.

Earlier, the CRPF battalion of Mulugu, Telangana, took care of the safety of the dam from 1 to 13, while the CRPF battalion of Vishakapatnam took the dam from 14 to 26 Gates.

After the fork, the special protection forces in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh took care of the safety of dams landed in the geographical areas of the various states.

According to the Center’s decision, when SPF personnel from the two countries clashed in November 2023, the safety of the dam was handed over to the CRPF. Telangana and AP withdrew SPF personnel, allowing CRPF to take over the safety of the dam.

Telangana officials have obtained information that CRPF officials in the state have been directed to return to headquarters to withdraw the dam’s safety. According to reports, the state government directed that if APSPF personnel were posted in place of the CRPF of Vishakapatnam Battalion, SPF officials were prepared to move 63 personnel to Nagarjunasagar for deployment.

Interestingly, officials of the Mulugu CRPF battalion received instructions Tuesday morning as CPRF of Vishakapatnam took over the safety of the dam.

It is understood that CRPF officials at the Vishakapatnam camp also received similar guidance two days ago.

The AP government buzzes it with the deployment of the Vishakapatnam CRPF camp for the entire security of the dam.
