BMS told the Center that enhanced ESI coverage salary ceiling

The union Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS), supported by Sangh Parivar, has written to Union Labor Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, urging him to increase the salary cap from Rs 21,000 to Rs 42,000 to qualify for the coverage of Employee State Insurance (ESI). BMS also requires the center to cease contract appointments for physicians, nurses and nursing staff in medical schools and hospitals managed by Employee State Insurance Corporation (ESIC).

BMS leader Ravindra Himte, S. Durairaj and Ashok Shukla said in the letter that the center should provide ESI hospitals in all areas where the insured reside. They asked: “Ensure that patients and patients are provided with 100% drug supply and adequate ESI/ESI’s own laboratory facilities,” they added that the center should upgrade outdated medical equipment in ESI hospitals and ensure specialist services to reduce patient demand to reduce private hospitals and laboratories.

They claim that ESI hospitals refer patients to private facilities, rather than government hospitals or national medical schools.

They asked the center to strengthen the Ayush Wing of ESIC by providing adequate physicians and qualified staff. They requested that contract appointments at all levels must be stopped in the letter.

They asked Mr. Mandavia to improve seating capabilities in front of the registration counter and consultation room.

BMS leaders asked the Labor Minister to improve the ESIC’s medical and administrative level grievance remedy mechanism.
