The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and the Army successfully conducted four flight tests on the medium-range surface-to-air missile (MRSAM) system on April 3 and 4. These tests were conducted at the Integrated Test Range (ITR) on the island of APJ Abdul Kalam on the coast of Odisa.
DRDO confirmed in a statement released on Friday that the operational trials were conducted for high-speed aviation targets. The missile successfully intercepted and destroyed designated targets, achieving a direct strike in all participation. Tests verified the effectiveness of the system in a variety of situations, with fascinating goals in remote, short distances, high altitudes and low altitudes.
Flight tests were performed in a delivered configuration using the weapon system to simulate operating conditions.

The MRSAM system is jointly developed by DRDO and the Israeli aerospace industry, including components such as multifunctional radar, command posts and mobile launcher systems.
According to the statement, Army personnel from the Eastern and Southern Command conducted these trials under the guidance of DRDO scientists. DRDO said the successful trials confirmed the operational processing capabilities of the participating Army Commander and “paved the way for weapons system operations in both regiments.”
The performance parameters of the weapon system during the test were verified using data collected from various range instruments, including radar and current tracking systems, which were supplemented by ITR, Chandipur, Chandipur, Drdo.
