Donation Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy is known as the historic decision to release water from the Somasila and Kadeleru reserves.
He said the move would benefit from 520,000 acres of land in the former Nellor and Chittal areas and be a blessing for dozens of farmers.
The minister spoke to the media on Sunday in a plan organized by his camp office to distribute between 3.725 million and 22 beneficiaries valued at his ATMAKUR constituency, which was under the Chief Minister Relief Fund (CMRF).
He recalled that this was the first time in the country’s history that water was released in the region for the second time.
“The release of water that has never happened in the past to the non-Delta region. We have achieved it due to the large flow of water in Krishna and Pennar basins, which has resulted in an impressive storage level of Somasila and Kandaleru Reservoirs. We owe the support of Chief Minister N. Chandrabababu Naidu.
Mr Ramanarayana Reddy recalls that the highest number of the reservoir ever soaked 1.8 million acres, and the second crop irrigated 524,000 acres of land for the past year was “unthinkable.”
Under the enhanced Penna Delta Ayacut, a total of 22 feet of water were released to irrigate 2 million acres of land and 16 TMC FT was released through four canals to irrigate 164,000 acres. Similarly, 16 feet of water were released through Telugu Ganga, which would make Venkatagiri, Sullurpeta, Gudur (early Nellore and now in the Tirupati area), Srikalahasti and Srikalahasti and Satyavedu building blocks in the Tirupati district.
The donation minister also noted that 10 feet of water were stored in the Kandalru Reservoir to meet the needs of the temple towns of Tirupati and Srikalahasti.
Mr Ramanarayana Reddy said that although the former YSRCP government completely ignored the irrigation sector, the coalition regime tended to restore the same irrigation sector, referring to Mr Naidu’s personal visit to various projects.
