ARR announces initiative to promote Tamil

Composer AR Rahman once again demonstrated his deep love for the Tamil language and announced plans for “digital symbols in Tamil” on the occasion of Tamil’s New Year’s Day.
The Oscar-winning composer posted on Instagram on April 14, highlighting the language’s legacy. “Tamil is one of the old languages that are still evolving and evolving in the world. Tamil Sangams plays a crucial role in strengthening the language through research and by adapting it. It is our responsibility to pass it on to the next generation through meaningful communication.”
He revealed that his company, Arr Immersive Entertainment, aims to introduce Tamil literature through illustrations and other new formats. “Arr Immersive Entertainment will create the iconic identity of Tamil digitally,” he said.
“In the future, buildings may also appear for this purpose. We will provide more information about this as soon as possible.” Rahman concluded that his message urged the Tamils to embrace their language and culture around the world, adding: “I hope this effort inspires the Tamils for all of us. Let’s enjoy the Tamils!”
In his speech to win the first Oscar for the Best Original Score of the Slum Millionaire in 2009, Rahman famously said in Tamil, “Ellapugugazhum Iraivanukke” – all praise the almighty.
He described Tamil as a “connected language” in early language debates involving Hindi.
