Among vegetables, tomato prices in April fell 34% to Rs 21 from Rs 32 a year ago. Potato and onion prices fell by 11% and 6% respectively. “The prices of tomato, onion and potatoes fell due to higher yields; yields on crops fell last year,” said Pushan Sharma, research director at Crisil Intelligence.
