Ashas meets with the Minister of Labor – Hindu

Acknowledged Social Health Activists (ASHAS), whose efforts to get better rewards and social security benefits, have been refused to acknowledge their demands for some time, Metropolitan Labor Secretary V. Sivankutty on Monday.
The leaders of Kerala ASHA Health Workers Association (Kahwa), VK Sadanandan and Ma Bindu met with Mr Sivankutty and submitted a memorandum detailing their requests, hoping that his intervention as a labor leader would find the 57-day old-fashioned incitement.
Mr Sivankutty pointed out that in minutes of the final round of talks with Kahwa and other unions last Thursday, the government said it had received remuneration in principle. He asked Kava to end the incitement. However, Kahwa leaders said they had no right to end the incitement without any monetary interest in Ashas.
Kahwa leader said in a conversation with media people that the Labor Minister had promised to discuss the issue with Health Minister Veena George. They reiterated that Ashas will continue to stir until the remuneration hikes.
