The efforts made by Andhra Pradesh (AP) government in attracting aerospace and defense manufacturing (A&DM) units on a large scale seem to be the result of the production required as many original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), most of which are micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMES), made from small businesses (MSMES), made of niches, have submitted facilities in the state.

This is formally attributed to the government’s recently appointed consultants G. Satheesh Reddy (former chairman of the Defense Research and Development Organization) and S. Somanath (former chairman of the Indian Space Research Organization) who brought the state goodwill to the state as it brought the state when investing in the A&DM sector.

For example, it is reliably learned that a Taiwanese company has shown interest in establishing a semiconductor manufacturing plant in the Kurnore area and applying for land, and has applied for necessary permits under the Indian semiconductor mission. Then there are opportunities for companies like Avantel Ltd. and Astra Microwave Products Ltd. to explore AP

In fact, the Indian Navy was installed, a mobile satellite service network, Avantel Ltd., which provides voice and data communication between its ships, submarines and aircraft, and has a variety of other technical and digital solutions in its tracks, seeking Land and certain motivations near the Eluru District, and establishing a unit near the Eluru District, considering a unit, and establishing an official here.

Defense PSU Bharat Dynamics Ltd is reportedly expanding its manufacturing division in Visakhapatnam SEZ. Several other A&DM companies, including Defense PSU, are keen to invest in the state and have contacted the AP government through their respective recommendations. Goa Shipyard is said to be studying the Associated Press’s investment avenue

Tailored incentives

In this case, the Associated Press government is providing all possible support and tailored incentives in accordance with AP APACE & DEEBRES COLIGET 4.0, 2025-29, which is being completed. Under the policy, the government intends to develop four clusters: Naval Shipbuilding and Defense MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul), defense and aerospace manufacturing, missiles and ammunition, and defense electronics manufacturing. To this end, the Associated Press’s Department of Industry and Commerce is following the French Defense Cluster Model, where OEM-led clusters are key to the development of the A&DM ecosystem.

The Chairman of the Industry Association told Hindu A&DM recommends developing a defence corridor/cluster to the Associated Press government in Jaggaiahpet, NTR region, in view of its distance from Hyderabad. Meanwhile, the emphasis should be on attracting investments in the Orvakal and Kopparthy clusters located in the Industrial Corridor of Hyderabad-Bangladesh and Visakhapatnam-Chennai.

He said Mr Satheesh Reddy (advisor to A&DM Hub) and Mr Somanath (advisor to space technology) are doing a lot behind the scenes to attract investment and their efforts are achieving results. He observed that subsequent construction of next-generation launch vehicles in Sriharikota could greatly boost the state’s A&D ecosystem.
