Associated Press charges Rs 2,213.60 for property tax in 2024-25 Rs 4,474.31

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh government has imposed a property tax of Rs 221.36 crore, including arrears and current bills of Rs 4,474.31 crore for Rs 2024-25.
Property tax is the primary source of income for citizen institutions, enabling them to provide citizens with a variety of services and amenities.
According to the municipality, the owed amount is Rs 233,703 crore, while the current bill is Rs 21,3768 crore.
Municipal departments provide incentives for those who pay their property taxes as soon as possible in the form of kickbacks. Nevertheless, some offenders did not pay their membership dues in the second half of the fiscal year and in the second half of the fiscal year. This forces the department to initiate additional steps to clear dues.
The government’s announcement of a 50% waiver of interest on property taxes will help collect taxes.
