Associated Press Governor offers Red Cross Awards to Eight Collectors for Outstanding Service

Governor S. Abdul Nazeer, who is also the chairman of the AP state branch of the Indian Red Cross (IRCS), participated in the World Red Cross celebrations and also participated in the International Thalassemia Day program at Raj Bhavan on Thursday.
The governor was actually unveiled at the Red Cross Thalassemia Transfusion Centre at the Srikakulam Regional Red Cross Blood Centre in Durbar Hall in Raj Bhavan.
He also revealed the plaque of the Red Cross Child Care, Women’s Welfare and Skills Development Center established in Kakinada.
Abdul Nazeer addressed regional collectors and other officials, congratulating officials and staff of the Srikakulam district branch for their initiative to support children and patients who require blood transfusions during treatment.
The governor said the IRCS AP state branch collects more than 65,000 blood units from 20 blood centers each year. He directed state branch officials to expand blood transfusion services at all IRCS blood centers.
Later, the Governor presented Red Cross awards to East Godavari District Collector P. Prasanthi, Krishna Collector DK Balaji, Nellore Collector O. Anand, Nandyal Collector G. Raja Kumari, Kakinada Collector Sagili Shan Mohan, Kurnool Collector P. Ranjit Basha, West Godavari Collector C. Naga Rani, and Bapatla District Collector J. Venkata Murali’s outstanding service and mobilization of the Red Cross movement’s greatest contribution.
