Trump calls Syrian leader “young and attractive”
On the way to Qatar Air Force One, Trump praised Sharaa, calling the meeting “awesome” and described the leader as “young, attractive. Strong people. Past. Past. Past. Past. Past. Past is strong past. Fighter.”
Trump also said al-Sharaa has a “past, very powerful past – fighter jets. At a meeting between Trump and the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in Riyadh, the meeting represented a major shift in Syria, which attempted to draw a new path after Bashar al-Assad suddenly fell from power last year.
Asked if Sharaa agreed to join the Abraham agreement and normalizes relations with Israel, Trump said: “I told him, ‘I hope I’ll join once the problem is resolved, he said yes. But they still have a lot of work to do.”

According to Reuters, Sharaa has been the leader of Al Qaeda’s official department in the Syrian conflict for many years. He first joined the Iraqi organization, where he spent five years in U.S. prisons. The United States canceled a $10 million bounty in December.

Trump urged salads to follow the paths of the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Morocco – all of which normalize the bond with Israel under the Abraham agreement of the U.S. broker. The Trump administration is now exploring normal relations with Syria, starting with this high-profile meeting.
“If we can bring peace and opportunity to places like Syria, it will be beneficial to the world,” Trump said. This move could position Syria to eventually join the Abraham agreement, although Israeli officials did not welcome the publicity. The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
