At least 6 militants were arrested in Bishnupur, Manipur

Police said on Saturday (April 12, 2025) that six militants were arrested from different areas of Manipur during a separate operation.
They said the arrests were from Bishnupur, eastern Istanbul, Iphar West and Kamppipi areas on Friday (11 April 2025).
A cadre of Kanglei Yaol Kanna Lup (Kykl/Sorepa) was arrested by Leimaram Mamang Leikai of Bishnupur. Police said the arrested militant Leichombam Pakpi Devi (37) was allegedly involved in blackmail and recruitment of youth in banned groups.
Active members of the banned Kangleipak ​​Communist Party (KCP-Noyon) were arrested from Checkon Crossing in the Imphal East area.
Police said Huidrom Sunder Singh (39) was involved in the transport of weapons and ammunition and ransomed the shops in the Mantripukhri area.
KCP (PWG) militants were arrested by Urup Awang Leikai in eastern Istanbul, while another member of the costume was arrested by Lei Ingkhol Maning Leikai in Imphal West. They both participate in ransomware small businesses.
Kykl’s active cadres signed with Lamlong Bazaar in Imphal East. Police said he was identified as Moirangthem Suranjoy Meitei (31 years old).

Cadres identified as the ban of Prepak (Pro) of Angom Surjit Singh were arrested from Phayeng Sabal Leikai in Imphal West.
In another operation, security forces arrested a man when he ransomed money from an NH-2 truck driver in the Compki region. He was identified as Hensonpiek Vaiphei (23), who had been living in the relief camp in Churachandpur.
Over the past few weeks, both the Imphal Valley, controlled by Meitei and the Kuki-dominated mountainous areas have been arrested in the Meitei-controlled Imphal Valley and Kuki-dominated mountainous areas, both of which have taken advantage of the prospects between the two communities.

The arrests are due to the center’s efforts to bring back peace, which has been elusive since the racial violence that broke out in the state in May 2023. In February, the president’s rule was implemented in the state after BJP leader N. Biren Singh resigned as chief minister.
More than 250 people were killed in the state and thousands were homeless.
