Two other J&K costumes walk out of separatist Hurryat meeting

Srinagar: Two other small components of the Hurriyat Conference (APHC) of all parties have stepped out of separatist amalgam, claiming that it failed to meet the expectations of the people of Jamu and Kashmir.

On Tuesday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had termed the breaking off ties with separatist All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) by two political outfits – Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Movement (JKDM) and Jammu and Kashmir People’s Movement- as a “victory” of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “vision” and urged other constituents of the amalgam to shun separatism and come forward to strengthen the country’s unity.
Mr. Shah claimed in an article on “X”: “Secessionism has become the history of Kashmir. The Modi government’s unified policy has abandoned separatism.” The interior minister welcomed the two outfits to cut off their ties from separatism, saying it was a step towards strengthening Indian unification. He urged all these groups to “stand up once and for all” and asserted: “This is a huge victory for Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji’s vision of establishing a development, peace and unity Bharat.”
Last September, Syed Salim Gilani, a former staff member of the Hurriyat meeting, quit the separatist camp and joined mainstream politics.
