At Mumbai airport, his shoes are hiding Rs 6.3 billion passengers

Mumbai: An official said the Income Intelligence Agency (DRI) arrested a passenger at the Mumbai airport after he hid in his shoes worth Rs 630 crore. In the follow-up, DRI detectives also arrested a potential buyer here, part of the gold smuggling group, the official said Saturday.
According to specific information, officials from Apex anti-step agency intercepted a passenger after arriving at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport from Bangkok.
The official said a search resulted in the recovery of 6.7 kilograms of smuggled gold bars worth Rs 63 crore, hidden in the shoes he was wearing, and he was arrested.
The official added that during his inquiry, the name of a potential buyer who smuggled gold metals appeared, who was also arrested.
