Toshiba Transmission Distribution System to invest Rs 56.2 billion in its Rudraram plant

Toshiba Transmission Distribution Systems (India) Pvt Ltd will establish a new manufacturing facility on its Rudraram Plant in the state and expand its existing manufacturing facilities for its existing transformer and gas insulated switch facilities, with an estimated investment of Rs 562 crore.
The project will adopt state-of-the-art technology to enhance existing capabilities, thereby contributing to the growing demand in the TCD sector. The plan is in line with the state’s vision of attracting high-value investments, strengthening the growth program of the power sector, industrial capacity and creating jobs in the region.
Special Secretary of Industry Jayesh Ranjan and TTDI Telangana Chairman and Managing Director Hiroshi Furuta signed a memorandum on Friday signed by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Toshibriba Corporation Energy Business Director Hiroshi Kaneta in Tokyo on Friday. TTDI is a wholly owned subsidiary of Toshiba Corporation and is a leader in transmission and distribution equipment (TCD) equipment for traditional and renewable energy.
The state is at the forefront of economic transformation, attracting global investors in multiple sectors through strategic partnerships and industry partnerships, CM said. Toshiba’s new investment reaffirms global companies’ confidence in the Telangana business ecosystem.
Mr Hiroshi Furuta said Telangana’s forward-looking policies, a strong industrial ecosystem and commitment to innovation make it an ideal destination for company investment.
“We are delighted to work with the Telangana government to drive technological advancement, accelerate economic growth and create a skilled workforce for the future. This investment underlines our long-term commitment to India and our vision to shape the future of the power sector,” he said.
The investment highlights TTDI’s commitment to delivering innovative products and solutions to the TCD sector and strengthens Telangana’s position as the premier destination for global technology and industrial investment. The program forms part of TTDI’s broad vision to design, develop and produce TCD products at the highest voltage levels in India, supporting the government’s “Made in India” program. TTDI will continue to play a role in the transmission and distribution space for the next decade.
