Vijayawada gets the first feel of the composting process in Thiruvananthapuram

Vijayawada: As part of their knowledge journey to South India State, a company delegation from Vijayawada Municipal Corporation visited the Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation in the capital Kerala on Tuesday. Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation Deputy Mayor PK Raju welcomes Vijayawada Deputy Mayor Avuthu Sailaja Reddy, Tourism Coordinator and Floor Lead Venkata Satyanarayana and other companies. Raju said Thiruvananthapuram consists of 100 departments and 25 regions, because it is a state capital, there is insufficient room for waste management. Therefore, they manage waste in limited available space.
Raju mentioned that there are compost plants in 70 regions that convert waste into fertilizer. He further said that a total of 64,430 three-story bins were allocated to 64,430 households, and about 87,000 households produced compost through the pipeline compost method. After that, the company was conducted on a field trip, showing them the composting process of converting waste into manure.
