The spare parts were finally transferred to a bulk carrier Sunday morning, and the part has been shelved since May 7 due to engine failure.
Kerala Maritime Commission tugs successfully transferred spare parts to MV Sirrah, who awaited Sirrah at the external anchorage of Vizhinjam.

MV Sirrah master Captain Anwar Gammal said the ship will leave the anchorage within four to six hours of correcting the defect, Waterline Spient and Logistics Pvt CEO Manoj Nair. The limited company said in a statement.
The MV Sirrah had several Indian crew members on board who had run into engine trouble on their way from Chennai to the United Arab Emirates. It contacted the Vizhinjam port authorities on the matter on 7 May. To restore operational capabilities, engine spare parts are urgently needed.
The owner of the ship has arranged for spare parts to be transported to Vizhinjam, but the vehicle was delayed to the checkpoint.
Meanwhile, the Coast Guard boarded the ship and conducted inspections in view of tensions prevailing along the Indian Parker border. It confirms that there are no suspicious elements or cargo on board.
Spare parts finally arrived at Vizhinjam around midnight on Saturday.
Mr Manoj Nair said Captain Gammal had expressed his gratitude to the port authorities, customs departments, immigration authorities and the Indian Coast Guard for their seamless coordination and timely support.
