Drone company owns 300 acres of hub in Orvakal

Kurnur: Roads Minister Janardhan Reddy, BC, announced on Monday that it will set up a drone company in the country in Andhra Pradesh, as well as a 300-acre dedicated drone center in Orvakal in the region.

Reddy stressed that the use of drones will promote the agricultural sector. He distributed agricultural machinery and equipment to farmers during an event held in Kovelakuntla, Banaganapalle constituency in Nandyal.

He said the government also aims to launch a drone training program there given the distance to the airport.

The minister claims that the former government distributed tractors based on community considerations and that many distributions were only on paper. The Ministry of Agriculture should investigate violations and submit reports.

He interacted with a group of farmers who used drones to conduct agricultural operations. He criticized the YSRC government for razing the warehouses built during the TDP rule and failed to distribute agricultural machinery to many farmers. He said that during the last TDP term, tractors and agricultural equipment were provided under subsidies.

Farmers told the minister that drone-assisted fertilizer spraying helps reduce labor costs and chemical use. This saves time as well. Drone spray reaches all target areas in a unified manner.

Reddy said that farmers will be provided with more modern tools upon request. He will coordinate with Agriculture Minister Atchannaidu to meet local requirements.

He said highlighting the transformation of Anantapur through gardening, he said the government focused on restoring the agricultural strength of Rayalaseema by connecting Polavaram with Banakacherla and with the central assistance, an estimated cost of Rs 1 lakh. This will turn the area into a development center, he said.
