Australian Federal Election 2025 results live broadcast: When and Where to Watch

Australia voted today. The race between Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and opposition leader Peter Dutton is very fierce, with key issues such as housing affordability, cost of living and cutting-edge climate policy. More than half of the voters voted early, thus building expectations for tonight’s results.Anthony Albanese's Labor Party has pledged to offer more affordable housing, better health insurance funding and a strong push to renewable energy. Peter Dutton, on the other hand, and his party have taken economic measures such as fuel excise tax, tax breaks and long-term nuclear energy programs. Where to watch the results

The election results are expected to be called tonight, although the exact timing will depend on the distance of the game. According to Antony Green, a senior election analyst at ABC, the earliest could be called a clear result, earlier than 7:30 p.m. If the results are tight, the count may extend into the late night.

  • ABC: Coverage starts at about 5:30 p.m. for David Speers and Sarah Ferguson. Senior analyst Antony Green will provide real-time updates in his last election night appearance.
  • 7NEWS: Starting around 4pm, Michael Usher and Natalie Barr lead the Australian Decision – Live Show of Results, which includes political editor Mark Riley and real-time data analytics.
  • Nine networks: Aest, Ally Langdon and Peter Overton hosted “Election 2025: Australia’s Decision” and provided live reports from party headquarters and experts analysis.
  • Australian Sky News: Coverage starts at the early 6 a.m. and is constantly updated throughout the day. Kieran Gilbert leads the party from 5 p.m., featuring real-time results from political heavyweight and lead analyst Tom Connell.
  • Network 10: Starting at 6pm Aest, Sandra Sully, Hugh Riminton and Ashleigh Raper provide coverage, including insights from a diverse panel and sarcastic comments from Betoota Advocate.
  • SBS and NITV: At 6:30 pm, Janice Petersen and Anna Henderson hosted a special edition of World News, NITV offers an indigenous perspective of the Northern Territory.

The election is about the direction Australia takes in an unstable world and a volatile economy in the coming years.
