Kalaburagi Airport offers opportunities for young people aspiring to become commercial pilots, with two aviation training academies stationed at the airport for the past three years of training.
The Red Bird Aviation Training Academy and the Asia Pacific Aviation Training Academy are providing pilot training for some students in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Kerala, Kerala, Punjab and Haryana. So far, more than 400 students have completed commercial pilot training courses at the two academies at Karablaji Airport.
Installation of Instrument Landing System (ILS) and Advanced Radar-based Technical Facilities – provides short-range guidance for aircraft landing and adverse weather conditions at night, making Karabraj Airport perfect for plot training. The Airport Authority of India (AAI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), signed a 30-year training agreement with the Red Bird Aviation Academy and worked with the Asia Pacific Aviation Training Institute for 25 years.
Captain Karan Mann, founder of Redbird Aviation Training Academy Hindu Kalaburagi Airport provides pilots with its advanced technology with the best training environment. He added that the college has 50 experienced staff and seven light aircraft for training, and the college currently has 70 admissions at the Karabraj Airport.
Mr Mann said the goal of Redbird Academy is to shape aspiring pilots into efficient and responsible professionals sought after by the industry. Pilot training begins with guiding aspiring people through the theoretical field. It is emphasized that the clearing exam conducted by the Civil Aviation Administration (DGCA) has completed a one-year course after 200 hours of flight training. He added that practical training is usually conducted during the day and sometimes even at night.
In order to conduct aviation training, aspiring pilots are required to meet eligibility criteria, including the use of PUC (Grade 12) qualifications in physics and mathematics, and pass a physical examination. Candidates must take the online entrance exam, which takes place multiple times in a year. Mann explained that Redbird Academy will charge Rs 5 million for course fees, which will depend on the institution.
“At the initiative of Atmanirbhar Bharat, 38 domestic agencies are providing flight training at 58 locations in the country. Recently, domestic airlines ordered more than 1,500 new aircraft to expand their fleets to meet air traffic needs.
He added that state-of-the-art facilities at Kalaburagi Airport benefit both domestic airlines and aviation training institutions.
