Has the dispute with Mumbai Captain Ajinkya Rahane moved Yashasvi Jaiswal to Goa? The report makes shocking claims

Yashasvi Jaiswal took a surprising move, choosing to switch from Mumbai to Goa for Indian domestic cricket.
Indian cricket was full of excitement on Wednesday as young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal announced his transfer from Mumbai to Goa for the upcoming 2025-26 domestic season. The 23-year-old formally requested in a letter to the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) on Tuesday, and the governing body quickly gave it a green light. In a candid chat with the Indian Express, Jaiswal opens up the difficult choice to leave Mumbai and shares the reasons that led to his decision.
“Goa has given me a new opportunity and it has provided me with a leadership role. My first goal is to do a good job for India, and whenever I don’t perform my national duties, I will play for Goa and try to get them deep into the game. It’s my opportunity, I just left and I just took it.”
A report from India today shows that even if he proposed the action first was a good move forward, there might be some fundamental problems. According to people familiar with the matter, the young batsman has become increasingly annoyed by being strictly monitored in the Mumbai cricket system. A tense relationship with former Mumbai Captain Ajinkya Rahane is at the heart of this misfortune.
The friction between Jaiswal and Rahane was reportedly started in a 2022 match when Rahane, who led the West Side, pulled Jaiswal out of the field for disciplinary reasons as he went oversledding with Ravi Teja of the South Side.
The next few seasons will only make things worse, especially during Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, where Jaiswal allegedly received unreasonable criticism from team management for choosing the shooting he chose. Because of this so-called injustice treatment, his dissatisfaction only increased.
The encounter between the Ranji Trophy last season with Jamu & Kashmir at BKC location Mumbai was a tip time. Even with top cricketers like Rohit Sharma and Jaiswal, Mumbai suffered losses. Rahane and coach Omkar Salvi asked Jaiswal, who was in trouble in the game, about his dedication. Sources said the comment sparked heated debate during which Jasval allegedly kicked Rahane’s kite in anger.
