Kerala University VC issues directive to combat substance abuse in educational institutions

Kerala University Vice President (Headministrator) Mohanan Kunnummal has issued strict guidelines to all university presidents directing them to ensure that all educational institutions across the state have a drug-free environment.

Professor Kunnummal emphasized in his exchange that it is necessary to implement a zero-tolerance policy on university campuses and affiliated hotels. He also directed comprehensive action to ensure that these houses are completely free of illegal substances and banned materials.

The Vice-Chancellor also urged to work with a variety of stakeholders, including parent organizations, student unions, National Service Programme (NSS) units, National Major Corps (NCC) units, local law enforcement agencies and consumption bureaus to address this issue.
