BCCI announces central contract list
The BCCI Council on Monday announced that it belongs to the men’s team’s central contract 2024-25. Several players have retained their positions on the list, while a few have become part of the central contract for the first time. However, there are also some players who are part of the BCCI Central contract, but have been revoked this year. These players include Shardul Thakur, Jitesh Sharma, KS Bharat and Avesh Khan. Except for KS Bharat, the other three players played in IPL 2025 and performed well in their respective franchises.

Abhishek Sharma-C-Class
Nitish Kumar Reddy – C-class
Akash Deep – C-level
Varun Chakaravarthy-C-Class
Harshit Rana – C-level
Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja are retained in the top A+ category, and they will receive Rs 7 crore per year. Aside from that, the A-level players include Mohammed Siraj, Kl Rahul, Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya, Mohammed Shami and Rishabh Pant. Suryakumar Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shreyas Iyer, on the other hand, are stuck in the B-class category.
What is the BCCI central contract?
The BCCI Central Contract is an annual retention agreement between the cricket committee and selected Indian players and guarantees that they will pay fixed money as compensation. The system was first introduced in 2004 and players are divided into four different categories, namely A+, A, B and C. Players in the A+ category receive Rs 7 crore each year, Rs 5 crore, B receives Rs 3 crore, and C receives Rs 1 crore from BCCI.
