Baloch activists declare independence: While symbolic, it could hurt Pakistan’s almost no hanging global image | World News

Bal Luzhi Province declares independence: Bal Luzhi Province has a difficult history of suspected backstab and annexation. From fighting to escaping Pakistan’s possession to announcing support for India, Bal Luchistan has been fiddling with multiple rebellions in the past. And now, according to several reports, BALOCH representative Mir Yar Baloch announced on Wednesday independence from Pakistan.
A brief history of Bal Luzhi Province
For decades, Bal Luzhi Province has demanded freedom. After the British left the Indian subcontinent – split – Kalat (now part of Bal Luzhin Province) was annexed by Pakistan in 1948. Since the annexation, Balochistan, the largest province in Pakistan (aspect), has seen several rebellions.
Bal Luzhi Province is sparsely populated and largely underdeveloped. However, it has a variety of natural resources. Locals in the province do not appreciate the presence of Pakistani troops in the region.
Fast forward to the present, a Baloch rights group Paank strongly condemned the “forced disappearance” pattern committed by Pakistani security forces in a post on X.
Why in the news?
Although Mir Yar Baloch’s declaration of independence from Pakistan was symbolic, it successfully attracted the problem of the face of Bal Luchistan. In an article on X, he said: “A famous journalist asked me. Question: Did the date of independence of Balluchistan Province be announced when Pakistani troops left Baloch soil?”
He added: “We had declared our independence on 11 August 1947, when the British left Bal Luchistan and the subcontinent.”
In another article, he urged Indian media and other media not to refer to Balochs as “Pakistan’s own people”.
He said: “Dear Indian Patriot Media, YouTube Comrade, intellectuals fighting to defend Bharat do not recommend referring to Balochs as “Pakistan’s own people”, we are not Pakistani people, we are Bal Luchistan.”
Finally, he added in another article that Bal Luchistan fully supports India’s decision to demand Pakistan’s evacuation from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK).
India-Parker Conflict: Recent Events
After 26 people were killed in the barbaric Pahargam terrorist attack, the Indian armed forces launched Operation Sindoor, attacking Pakistan’s terrorist infrastructure, which occupied Jamu and Kashmir (POJK).
New Delhi has also announced a series of diplomatic and punitive measures against Islamabad. At a time when the ISIS faces turmoil in India, it seems that reports of insurgency or staying away from the Balochs’ independence demands could undermine the international hand.
Can Baloch’s Declaration of Independence hurt Pakistan internationally?
The Declaration of Freedom could draw international attention from the Human Rights Council and lead to an investigation into the issues raised by Balochs. Furthermore, such incidents have the potential to raise questions about the legitimacy of Pakistan at the international level.
Although India continues to fact-check the various claims made by Pakistan after the recent conflict and debunk them, the example of Bal Luchistan’s declaration of independence could cause damage to Pakistan’s image.
