The Bangalore City Police Department has launched a dedicated messaging platform “BCPCHAT” for internal use of the department.
BCP Commissioner B. Dayananda said the messaging application was “tailored to support secure, efficient and structured communication within the department”, with only authorized police control and ensuring strong data protection as all data will be stored in Karnataka State Data Center.
The app is built to ensure structured sharing of information, including VIP location and movement, daily crime reports, daily situation reports and media coverage, among others. The application also facilitates the sharing of all government orders such as notifications, notices and guidelines with all officials when needed.
The app also has an effective search module that quickly searches and accesses archives, documents related to criminals, cases and more.
