“Bangaluru is the most expensive city in India…”

Reddit posts have become all the rage after users claim that Bangalore is the most expensive city living across India. The Post compared with cities such as Pune, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Kolkata, which he believes that Bangalore has the highest costs for rent, food, transportation and general lifestyle.

The user wrote: “People, I live in Pune, Ahmedabad, Mumbai. I have friends in Hyderabad and Kolkata.

Redit also said that monthly income of Rs 50,000 to Rs 60,000 is not enough to support a nuclear family in Bangalore. To support this, the user shared his recent experience in Mumbai, saying: “I had to reach my destination just 2 km from the train station and the Mumbai car guy charged me a fee of Rs 30. I was shocked and double confirmation before I could get in. Even the street food there started at Rs 10-15 when it started!
They also compared the high rents in Bangalore to cheap housing in cities like Ahmedabad. “In Bangalore, everything from street food to living expenses to lifestyle is expensive,” the Post concluded.

The post quickly gathered more than 100 comments, triggering a lively debate. Many users share their views, either agreeing or disagreeing with the original claim.

One user wrote: “Bengaluru has nowhere to go, I repeat that it’s as expensive as Mumbai. I’ve lived for years.” Another added: “Mumbai street food is at another level on another level in terms of price and quantity. There is no comparison.” Some support the original post. One commentator said: “Hyderabad costs are as expensive as Bangalore. I have seen a lot of progress over the past year.”

A Pune resident had a different view: “Master, I live in Pune now and I just want to go back to Bangalore. The food and infrastructure here are too poor.”

Others talk about supply and demand. One user explained: “There is a reason people flock to Bangalore, and high demand always leads to high prices.”

A man from Gurgaon shared: “Sorry, boy, but Gurgaon is more expensive. The only thing that feels overestimated in Bengaluru is the automatic riding, the normal cab is the same everywhere.”
