Andhra Hospitals launched the “Vijayawada Mother’Milk Bank Project” on March 16 (March 16) through funding provided by Rotary International.
The Rotary Club of Vijayawada, in partnership with Andhra Hospital, launched the project, which spent more than Rs 3.7 lakh to provide breast milk to unacceptable newborns, for various reasons. The main goal of the project is to collect and distribute donated breast milk to such newborns. About 7,200 newborns are expected to benefit from this service each year.
The actor and wife of Telugu actor Mahesh Babu, Namrata Shirodkar, spoke during this time, stressing the importance of breast milk as it is the best nutrition for babies. She noted that the mother’s milk banking program would be a blessing for babies born prematurely, low birth weight or mothers without enough milk.
She praised Andhra Hospitals for its efforts to work with Rotary Club to provide services to children.
Ms. Namrata also congratulated the Mahesh Babu Foundation, the management of Andhra Hospital, and the pediatric and cardiac team for their successful execution of more than 4,500 cardiac surgeries and interventions on children over the past 10 years. Andhra Hospital Managing Director PV Ramana Murthy was present.
