Chief Minister MK Stalin on Sunday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to alleviate “legal concerns” among the people of Tamil Nadu and other southern states that the next demarcation event will not result in fewer parliamentary seats in southern states.

Mr Stalin called on Mr Modi to the southern states that successfully control his population would not see their representation in parliament. “This is focused not only on reducing seats in parliament, but on our rights and future happiness,” he said in Udhagamandalam.
PM Modi opens Pamban Bridge real-time update
The Chief Minister has activated 1,703 government jobs, including Udhagamandalam Government Medical College and Hospital.
The Chief Minister said he had informed the Prime Minister that he would not be able to attend the event in Rameswaram, where Mr. Modi opened the first vertical lift bridge for India in Pamban. He has welcomed the Prime Minister on behalf of two ministers Thangam Thennarasu and Rajakannappan.
He added that the DMK is working to ensure social justice across the country. DMK MP and every constituency across the state are being replicated across the country to ensure equitable development. “So what they are doing now is plotting to reduce the number of seats in the parliament of Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu is the first state to raise its big plot against the name of demarcation,” Stalin said. He said demarcation practice would seriously affect countries like Tamil Nadu.
He noted that 22 political parties from seven states formed a joint action committee on fair demarcation and decided to meet with the Prime Minister. He also sent a letter to Mr. Modi, hoping that the Prime Minister would arrange a meeting on this issue soon.
