Basava Jayanti, Sharana Vaibhava celebrates in Kudala Sangama

Basava Jayanti and Sharana Vaibhava celebrated on Wednesday at Kudala Sangama in Bagalkot district where Samadhi is located in Basavanna.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah presented the Basava National Award to Sharana scholar and senior librarian Shivaputrappa Rayappa Gunjal.
The state government has recognized the 92-year-old Gunjal’s lifelong dedication to his research work in Barcelona and other Sharanas literature.
The Chief Minister finished reading Vachana, Ivanarava, Ivanarava…, the crowd repeated after him.
Kannada Language and Culture Minister Shivaraj Tangadagi released a book “Cultural Leaders of Vishwa Guru Basavanna Karnataka” written by Veeranna Rajur, Meenakshi Bali and Ramzan Dargah.
The event witnessed the existence of several lingayat prophets and missionaries from Muslims and Christian religious institutions.
Minister RB Thimmapur said that even nine centuries after Sharana Revolution, social ills like social evil continue.
“We need to fully understand the intentions of salad rock and implement the ideas of Vakanas in our lives,” he said.
Sri Nijagunananda Swami of Baiilur Nishkala Mantapa called for the search for public harmony. “We are a secular democratic republic and we should keep that. Public harmony is the way forward. We should retain its character. We need to realize that community and casteist forces are dangerous and will lead to disasters,” he said.
The Prophet recalled that as Minister of the JH Patel Government, Mr. Siddaramaaiah helped to establish the Kudal Sangama Development Committee. “Mr Sidalamaya renamed the University of Women after Akka Mahadevi and asked for the use of the portrait of Basawana in government offices, schools and universities and declared Basawana as a cultural leader in Karnataka. This can be done,” he claimed.
The prophet asked the government to install the statue of Basavanna and his wife Neelambike in Kudala Sangama. He urged the state government to reprint the 15th edition of Vachanas at an affordable cost and launch a campaign to popularize Vachana literature in schools and college students.
Minister MB Patil said Dr. Gunjal was elected to work in Vachana’s literature. “Dr. Gunjal worked on the documentation for Vachanas at the FA Gu Halakatti Centre and worked with MM Kalaburggi on Vachana Philosophy.”
Mr. Patil traces life in Barçavana from his birth in the Shaiva Brahman family to one of the most severe critics of Vedic philosophy.
He asked for the establishment of a university or Vachana Research Centre at the new Anubhava Mantapa site in Kudala Sangama. He thanked the Chief Minister for the Rs 4 million grant, which was awarded to the Shivanubhava magazine, which appeared in 1920. Mr Patil seeks help from the state government to establish a Basavanna Experience Center in Bangalore, introducing him to the younger generation. He said Basava Samiti proposed providing land for the center.

Earlier, a large parade was sent from the Sangamanath temple to the Basaveshwara Circle in the town. Folk artists perform along the route. Barçavanna and other salads are being shot in the bust and images.
