The BBC sparked a bounce of anger in putting a biological woman on a gay dating show, and I kissed a boy and critics posted “extremely gay” moves.
The reality show led by pop star Dannii Minogue features single men who seek love but have twists. Participants must kiss before they get to know each other.
But after discovering one of the participants Lars was born and lived as a girl for 16 years, controversy broke out, though now identified as “trapped in a woman’s body.”
The move was exploded by the campaign group LGB League, who wrote directly to BBC boss Tim Davie, asking the show to be pulled out of the air.
In a stern letter, the group claimed the BBC decision was a “terrible return” that allowed gay men to pretend they were attracted to a woman.
“Any rejection of her – which is exactly in line with her natural homosexuality – activists will seize evidence of her paranoia and phobia.
“It is unreasonable to coerce young gay men in this way,” the letter reads.

“For a lot of people, seeing guys kiss on TV is very faced. I get it. And I’m not judging whether anyone is facing them – I can’t change.”
Lars, a 23-year-old hotel receptionist from Wolverhampton, is the first transgender contestant to take part in the show, which debuted in 2023 and now includes a spinoff of a lesbian named Me Kissing a Girl.
The bank has added to the growing number of BBC controversy around its stance on gender and gender identity.
Last year, the broadcaster faced a rebound after including a trans Columbia scientist in the year’s Men.
Similarly, in 2002, the now-notorious Sky1 showed Miriam cheating six people into a fight for the relationship of young models without telling them she was transgender – she later killed herself.
The show allowed the men to compete for her feelings and a £10,000 competition, but they didn’t discover Miriam’s gender identity until the ending – which led to a contestant smashing the luxurious Ibiza Villa where the contestants stayed and even threatened to kill the 21-year-old model.
LGB Alliance CEO Kate Barker accused the BBC of pushing the anti-gay agenda under the guise of “inclusiveness.”
She told the Telegraph: “By bringing a straight woman to a gay dating show, the BBC is telling the audience loudly: it is impossible to be gay.

“I kissed a boy and would be looked at by many young people who just knew their gender attraction.
“Many people will send messages that have sexual boundaries, or paranoids should not be attracted to women.
“It’s an incredible return and gay program, and another sign of cruelty that “kindness” has caused.
A BBC spokesman said: “I kissed a boy and it’s always been an inclusive dating show about finding love. All applicants are asked to have their dating preferences and match accordingly.
“Producers all take participants’ preferences into account and make sure all contributors are aware and satisfied with the application, casting and matching process.”
