BBC bargaining star Ochuko Ojiri arrives in court after being charged with eight crimes related to terrorist financing

The BBC’s bargaining Hunt and Antiques road trip star Ochuko Ojiri has been charged with appearing in court on suspicion of terrorist funding.

The 53-year-old art dealer, who has been featured on the BBC’s popular show for several years, attended Westminster District Court this morning.

He is Under Section 21A of the Terrorism Act 2000, the first person charged with a specific crime.

This includes eight counts of failure to disclose in the business process of a regulated department.

The full name of the allegation against TV personality is Oghenochuko Ojiri, which is related to the period from October 2020 to December 2021.

Ojiri, from West London, was formerly the owner of an old-fashioned store called Pelicans & Parrots in the capital, which closed its doors in 2021.

The store is known as the “coolest place in London” and sells contemporary furniture, well-curated home software and gifts.

He then became a bargaining regular, known for his passionate screen manner and love for hats.

Ojiri has also appeared in antique road trips since 2021 – while traveling in the UK while trying to make money with forgotten items.

Far from his broadcasting career, Ojiri founded Ramp Gallery, a place specializing in emerging and modern artists.

He has previously described his love for collecting objects, including contemporary art, painting, prints, sculptures and paintings.

He told the BBC: “I’m absolutely fascinated.”

When asked about his love to appear on Bargain Hunter, he said: “Who doesn’t like bargaining? Of course I will do that.

“I also like the enthusiasm of the contestants and the many of them who don’t like them.”

Ojiri said he also likes to travel at work on TV, adding: “Every time you go, it’s an unlimited adventure.

The investigation prompted the allegations against Ogiri were conducted by officials from the National Terror Finance Investigation Department (NTFIU), which is part of the Metropolitan Police’s Counter-Terrorism Command.

Police said the Treasury Department, HMRC and the Metropolitan Arts and Antiques Department were also involved in the investigation.

Ojiri has never been in the BBC program since 2023.

A BBC spokesman said: “It is inappropriate to comment on the ongoing legal process.”
