BBMP Chief Specialist Checks SAI Layout on Tractor

Bangalore: Residents in the Sai layout under the Mahadevapura area of Mahanagara Palike in Bruhat, Bangalore, Bruhat, Bangalore, had to face another flood in their area from early hours to 2am on Saturday. Due to flooding, residents spend most of their time draining water from their homes.
Residents face similar regional flooding in October in October, and then residents have to cope with knee deep water levels, sources told Deccan Chronicle on Sunday. Even heavy rains in September 2020 caused the SAI layout to flood, and then parked vehicles were damaged due to water records at knee depth.
In the ordeal they face, one resident said about 6 feet of water flooded the layout and residents had to stay out of sleep until 3 a.m. until water was drained from the house. The chief commissioner of BBMP Maheshwar Rao provided first-hand information on the SAI layout, checked the boarding layout, and assured residents that a permanent solution was found to spread the layout.
For a certain period of time, the chief commissioner said that a good jack was to be arranged to drain the water accumulated in the layout, noting that the SAI layout was a lower area, the lower area was much lower, and the rainwater drains passing nearby were getting lower and lower, while the excess water flowing out of the drain pipe entered the SAI layout, resulting in a flood of layout.
To make the residents of the SAI layout worse, Rao said the nearby vents were too small to allow too much water to flow, and he promised to discuss with railway officials to expand the size of the vents.
Rao assured the residents that upon confirmation, the residents provide compensation to the affected residents and told them to take measures to remove the stormwater to prevent overflow into the layout. During the inspection, Rao inspected the inspection areas near Manyata Tech Park, Nagavara Junction and surrounding areas and was affected by flood/water supply.
