AIG Hospital in Gachibowli held an unusual gathering on Friday morning (May 16, 2025) as more than 40 contestants from Miss World 2025 visited the medical facility as part of their trip across culture and themes in Telangana.
The hospital departed from the usual schedule of clinical meetings and academic courses to welcome international guests around 11 a.m., a moment when Telangana strives to highlight its growing reputation in the medical tourism industry, leading the world finale later this month.

This visit is unlike an earlier trip, which focuses on the state’s heritage and rural tourism industry, aiming to showcase the healthcare ecosystem of Hyderabad, the neurological center of Telangana’s medical tourism program. Dr. D. Nageshwar Reddy, Chairman of the AIG Hospital, received contestants who led them to visit the facility.
The team explored several departments, including the hospital’s advanced endoscopic suite, chemotherapy ward, research center, pediatric unit and skills laboratory, giving them a glimpse of Hyderabad’s infrastructure and innovation.
At the party, Dr. Reddy delivered a speech on gut health, emphasizing that the human microbiome is a vast community of bacteria in the digestive system and is becoming a new field of medicine. “The gut is the new heart,” he said, explaining how trillions of microorganisms in the body affect everything from metabolism and immunity to mental health.
Dr. Reddy highlights the importance of natural childbirth, extended breastfeeding, and a fiber-rich diet in shaping a healthy microbiome. He used almonds as an example and explained: “It’s not that almonds can improve brain function, but the gut bacteria that convert tyrosine into dopamine and adrenaline. Food is important, but the process is more important.”
The interactive meeting resonated with many visitors.
Faith Bwalya, Miss World Zambia, 2025, was impressed by the hospital’s prevention methods. “What fascinates me the most is how the institution focuses on prevention. This is the way we need to go home: medicine is not only about treating diseases, but about preventing diseases,” she said.
