Two of the two families of Triveni, 25, and Shivakumar, 35, died in a road accident on Sunday when they collided with two trucks on the national highway near Nelamangala.
The accident occurred in the evening near the Boodihala gate, when the two carried their luggage in a pickup truck driven by their relative Veerabhadra.
Police said the truck driver in front suddenly applied the brakes, which forced Veerabhadra to do so. As a result, the second truck behind them collided with their vehicle. This effect caused the front tire to crash into the front van, killing two people.
Veerabhadra escaped with minor injuries, a police officer said.
Nelamangala Traffic Police registered a case and arrested the drivers of two trucks. Further detection is underway.
