Bellagarve police arrested four people suspected of blaspheming Idga (open space) in the village of Santa Wade. The so-called incident occurred in April.
Officials arrested Laxman Yallappa Uchawade, 30, Muttappa Bharma Uchawade, 26, Laxman Nagappa Naik, 30, and Shivaraj Yallappa Gudli, 29. They all come from the same village.
They faced charges of damage to four Gumbazs (Dound), profaning some graves and name boards.
Police Chief Iada Martin Marbaniang told reporters that the defendant had pleaded guilty to the crime. He added that investigators found evidence.
