Zelenskyy Dial Dial Nods after Putin’s Limited Ceasefire, Trump | World News

Former U.S. President Donald Trump had an hour-long conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy the day after speaking with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The call was made beyond Trump’s efforts to mediate a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine.

Trump said in a social media post that the discussion aims to “align both Russia and Ukraine in terms of their demands and needs.” He expressed optimism about progress, saying, “We are very conditional.” Trump also directed Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Adviser Michael Waltz to post more details in an upcoming statement.

Zelenskyy, who repeatedly pushed for U.S. support, acknowledged the conversation and showed he was interested in learning more about Trump’s discussion with Putin.

Trump reached a limited deal with Putin’s call on Tuesday, with Russia agreeing not to target Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. But Putin rejected Trump’s proposal for a 30-day ceasefire.
