Bhu Bharati will help farmers: Ponguleti

Nirmal: Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said Friday that despite spending the night due to the Dharani portal, the new Bhu Bharati bill and portal will provide much-needed relief and ensure the safety of its land holdings. He accused the former BRS government of introducing Dharani to benefit his people, which he said led to their defeat in the last general election.

Srinivas Reddy hopes that the Bhu Bharati Act of 2025 will become a model income law for India, and therefore urges officials to enforce the law in a people-friendly manner to ensure that landowners receive full benefits. He explained that the surveyor will check the applicant’s land, issue the patas, as well as the land map, and upload details when requested by the farmers.

The minister made these remarks at the Bhu Bharati Avagahana sadassulu meeting and Penchikalpet Mandal headquarters in Kuntala, which was elected as pilot Mandals in Nirmal and Komaram Bheem areas. He announced that courts and other appeal authorities would be established to resolve complaints from the Bhu Bharati Act. He said all land-related issues raised during the meeting of the four pilots Mandel will be addressed. He added that the Congressional administration is also committed to addressing 926,000 of all 926,000 applications and will deliver justice for landowners.

Reddy said Pattas will be distributed to farmers on June 2, the state’s composition day, to cultivate income land. He also announced that the second phase of income covering all remaining areas will begin on the same day. He criticized the Dalani Portal, saying that when their names disappeared overnight, many farmers were traumatized, forcing them to visit Tashildar’s office repeatedly. He assured that action will be taken against officials believed to be guilty of negligence and that a toll-free number will be initiated for public complaints.

The minister also announced the reinstatement of Village Revenue Assistants (VRAs) and Village Revenue Offices (VROs) as village administrators in 10,956 revenue villages from June 2. Regulating rehabilitation, Reddy promised that oustees of the Sriram Sagar Project (SRSP) in Mudhole constitution would receive a fair Resettlement and Rehabilitation (R&R) package, but said it would take time due to The state’s current financial restrictions.

Adivasi Oustees of the Kaval Tiger Reserve met with Reddy and thanked him and Nirmal collector Abhilasha Abhinav for releasing the Patta land and facilitating their relocation to the new colony of Kadam Mandal Maddipadaga. To express their gratitude, they introduced the ministers a pot filled with seeds that read “Rythe Raju”.

Rural Development Minister Dansari Anasuya (Seethakka) said people have deep emotional connections with the land. She claimed that feudal landlords used Dharani to capture the invading land, adding that particularly vulnerable tribal groups would acquire Indiramma houses, with the second phase of the option between October and November.

Naveen Mittal, chief secretary of the tax bureau, said the state government is confident that it will resolve land-related issues and deploy employees to villages for this purpose. Khanapur MLA Vedma Bojju claims that landlord Ravinder Rao and the late Kadam Narayana Reddy had occupied Adivasi land and obtained Pattas. He also accused forest officials of harassing Adivasy in B.C., where the Dalit community cultivated its own land.

Nirmal collector Abhilasha Abhinav said farmers’ feedback on the Bhu Bharati initiative was absolutely positive. Several senior congressional leaders at the event, including MLA Rama Rao, S. VenugopalaChary, Srihari Rao, former MLA Vittal Reddy and Palvai Harish Babu.
