Bidar students refuse CET to enter sacred thread to get free engineering seats

To maintain Suchivrath Kulkarni’s academic future, he was denied the CET math exam to refuse to delete his Janivara (Sacred Thread) – Minister Eshwar B. Khandre of Forests, Environment and Ecology announced a free engineering seat at the Bhimanna Khandre Institute of Technology

Khandre, accompanied by Minister Rahim Khan, also served as the Bidar Regional Minister, visited the residence of Suchivrath Kulkarni on Saturday morning to provide ethical support to students and their families.

“The academic prospects of no students are harmful in such incidents,” Candrey said, confirming that Suchivrath will offer free seats at Bhalki’s Bkit. He also noted that efforts were being made to allow Suchivrath to take CET exams separately, adding that he had spoken with the Minister of Higher Education on the matter.

“He can also take the Comedk exam and if he sits there, he will be fully supported,” Khandre added. He called the incident “unfortunate” and held a private university staff member responsible for the failure. “Instructions have been issued to prevent such incidents from happening repeatedly,” he said, adding that he directed the district government to investigate and submit a report within 24 hours. “According to the report, strict action has been taken against the person in charge.”

“The government stands with the students and their families,” Candre assured. On April 17, Suchivrath Kulkarni stopped at the CET centre and asked his Janivara to be removed for access. He was forbidden to take the exam when he refused on religious grounds. The incident has aroused widespread criticism from civil society and was elected as a representative.
