EBM-PAPST India to invest Rs 340 in new factory in Chennai to create 700 jobs by 2026

Chennai, April 4 (PTI) EBM-PAPST India, an Indian subsidiary of the EBM-PAPST Group headquartered in Germany (known for manufacturing fans and cars), held a groundbreaking ceremony at his new manufacturing plant in Chennai. The facility is expected to operate by the end of 2026, with approximately 700 employees and strengthening EBM-PAPST’s commitment to India and efforts to expand local production.

The German-based family EBM-PAPST Group reported global turnover of 240 billion euros in 2023-24.

The company has operated in the Indian market since 1996 and currently has four sales offices, two manufacturing facilities and multiple warehouses in the country. It employs about 375 employees in India.

India plays a crucial role in EBM-PAPST’s strategy in the Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa (APMEA) region. this The investment of Rs 340 crore will be used to develop a new factory on 14.2 acres of land in Chennai. Once operated, the facility will serve markets in the Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa, the company said in a statement.

“This investment reflects our long-term vision for India. By promoting local production, we can not only meet the growing demands of our Indian customers but also create sustainable jobs, thus contributing to the industrial development of the country,” said Atul Tripathi, managing director of EBM-PAPST India.

He added that the new plant marks an important step in enhancing the resilience of the EBM-PAPST supply chain and supporting the resilience of its “local strategy”.

The upcoming plant comes after the establishment of a new Global Capacity Center (GCC) in 2023, which has approximately 300 employees.

The center is committed to developing digital solutions for EBM-PAPST’s smart fan technology and global processes, thus facilitating the company’s digital transformation.

“By positioning production and strengthening supply chains, we ensure we can respond quickly and efficiently to the needs of our customers in India,” said Thomas Nuernberger, Chief Sales Officer of EBM-PAPST Group and CEO of Aviation Technology APAC and MEA Business.
