Congress conducts large-scale organizational restructuring: Venugopal

KC, Secretary General of the All-India Congress Committee (AICC), Venugopal met here on Tuesday (8 April 2025) and vowed to launch Sardar Patel’s “Road to Social Justice”.
Following the meeting of the Extended Congress Working Committee held at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Memorial to reporters, Mr. Vinagapal pointed out that Congress was committed to a complete reorganization of the party organization this year and discussed the issue in detail at the meeting.
“We will have a massive organizational restructuring and there will be the same guidelines. Our general secretary and head are on it, too,” he said.
Mr Venugopal also stressed that measures to authorize the heads of the party’s regional departments will be introduced as soon as possible.
He said in response to the inquiry: “We have discussed the DCC president, responsibilities and powers of the DCC in various forums, and have already been discussed in various forums, and the proposal has been approved and we will introduce the proposal in the near future.”
Mr Venugopal said the extended CWC passed a resolution: “Our political party will walk along the way Sardar Patel showed us JI”.
“He opposed British oppression and fought for the rights of workers and peasants. He rejected public forces after the assassination of Pap. He fought for India. Everyone has fundamental rights and freedoms. Today, as we embark on the road of social justice, our Niyar road follows the same principles of Sardar Patel,” he said. ”
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge also asserted the party’s claims on Sardar Patel’s legacy in his opening remarks at the meeting, and accused the BJP and RSS of trying to usurp it under a “planned conspiracy” against the national heroes.
Mr. Hager stressed that Congress is pushing for the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi and Patel.
He said: “Sardar Patel Saheb lives in our hearts, in our minds. We move his legacy forward. We have organized this CWC meeting in Ahmedabad at the Sardar Patel Museum and considered the idea. We are sincerely contributing to him.”
Earlier in the day, AICC Secretary-General Sachin Pilot told reporters that Congress intends to create more competent regional units with a president with increased sense of responsibility, responsibility and political strength.
He said Congress will fight the upcoming elections with strength and expressed confidence in Congress and its support for ideology to make the Bharatiya Janata party and the National Democratic Alliance a daunting challenge.
Mr. Pilot briefed journalists outside the venue: “The intention of the president of Congress and the opposition leaders is to create a more authorized regional division.”
“The accountability and political strength we give to regional presidents like this will be enhanced,” he stressed.
The final result will be decided after Wednesday’s General Assembly, but the purpose of Congress is to give the Regional Congress (DCC) president more authorized than before.
“2025 is a year of organization that aims to strengthen our workers, expand our partisan ideology and ensure Congress stands out in the massive connection program through Padiatras and door-to-door programs,” he said.
The pilot said the party was to not only send a clear message to its opponents, but also to its supporters and workers that Congress would not take a step back and actively fight within and outside the parliament and ensure it won the next political challenge.
“The elections are won, and we will fight with strength in the next few elections, and I am very confident that Congress and its support ideology will come together to challenge the BJP and NDA,” the pilot said.
He said the resolution passed at the end of the meeting on April 9 will be named “Nyay Path”.
“Tomorrow’s meeting will write a new chapter in history,” he said.
