BJP announces Raja Iqbal Singh as mayoral candidate for the upcoming MCD election

The AAM AADMI party has decided to abstain from the ruling, saying that the BJP should “rule Delhi without any excuses”.
The BJP also announced that Jai Bhagwan Yadav will compete for the position of deputy mayor.
Meanwhile, Saurabh Bharadwaj, the Delhi convener of the AAM AADMI party, told reporters on Monday: “We don’t think we will send candidates for the AAM AADMI party in the mayoral election this time.”
He hit the BJP, he said the ruling party should “election its own mayor, the BJP should set up its own standing committee and rule Delhi without any excuses”.

Currently, AAP controls the mayoral position as Mayor Mahesh Kumar Khinchi won the election with only three votes in November 2024.
