NDA bags with more than 320 Panchayat seats, undisputed in Assam

Guwahati: The National Democratic League (NDA) led by BJP gained a huge preliminaries in the upcoming Panchayat election in Assam, winning 288 Anchalik Panchayat (AP) and 37 Zila Parishad (ZP) (ZP) seats.

Of the 2,192 AP seats, NDA has obtained 288-259 through BJP, with its Ally AGP representative of 29, exceeding 13% of the total. In the ZP category, the league has won 37 of BJP’s 397 seats, while the 2 seats manufactured by AGP exceed more than 9% of the total.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma called the result “a huge and unprecedented mission in Assam’s political history”. Sarma added that the final NDA score may increase after the polls come to conclusions.
The Panchayat election is scheduled for two phases, 27 districts on May 2 and 7. The count will be held on May 11. While the Gaon Panchayat (GP) election has no party symbols, political affiliation applies to the AP and ZP levels.
