Bomb explosion hurts two students at Samsergunj amid tensions

Berhampur: Two student boys were injured in a bomb explosion in the nervous Samsergunj area Wednesday morning.

Police sources said the explosion occurred in Chaksapur Village, adjacent to the volatile Dhuliyan, and recently witnessed sporadic violence during the WAQF protests, killing three people, numerous injuries and destroying houses and shops.

According to sources, two student victims were on their way to the personal coaching center and took a shortcut through nearby Mango Grove. Suddenly, the hidden bomb, hidden under the dry mango leaves, detonated, causing the two boys to suffer severe bomb damage and lie in the pool of blood.

Locals rushed to their aid and initially admitted to Janjipur Hospital. Due to the severity of the condition, they were later transferred to the Mexidabad Medical College and the Hospital.

However, police dismissed the incident as isolated, claiming that someone had hidden a crude oil bomb in the mango woods that accidentally exploded. Still, police launched an inquiry, blocking the mango woods and seizing several rough bombs on the scene from the area. Despite recent WAQF-related violence in other villages in Dhuliyan and Samsergunj, police insisted that the village of Chaksapur remained peaceful.
