Books on the possible effects of nuclear energy release

Writer Kalpetta Narayanan released the book Randam Aanava Duswapnam ((The second atomic nightmare) On Tuesday (April 22) in Kozhikode, a copy of VT Padmanabhan, director of the Science, Environment and Ethics Association, was handed over to VT Padmanabhan.

This book is an anthology of papers on nuclear energy and the future energy prospects of Kerala, contributed by prominent figures, including nuclear physicists Surendra Gadekar, MV Ramana, Budhikkotta Subba Rao, K. Ramachandran, K. Sahadevan, E. Unnikrishnan and C. Jayararaman. It is published by a transitional study related to the MN Vijayan Cultural Center and edited by K. Sahadevan.

Writer and journalist NP Chekkutty presided over the function, given the recent proposal to build a nuclear power plant in Cheemeni, Kasaragod, the book’s relevance.

Mr Padmanabhan talks about his research in the Chavara-Neendakara region of Kollam to study the effects of radiation. Writer and researcher Smitha P. Kumar introduces the book. Mr. Sahadwan also attended the meeting.
