A three-year-old boy accidentally slid into the well and died in Mudebihar, Vijayabra District.
The deceased was identified as Harshit Basavaraj Patil, who was reportedly missing Friday night after he went out to play at home.
The body was found in an open well near his home on Saturday. After family members expressed suspicion, fire brigade personnel inspected the well and found the body.
Muddebihal police have registered the case.
