British police arrest five men, including four Iranians, suspected of terrorist plot

The Metropolitan Police said in a statement on Sunday that the UK's counter-terrorism police arrested five men, including four Iranian nationals, on suspicion of terrorism charges for conspiracy against specific places. The arrests took place Saturday in Swindon, West London, Stockport, Rochdale and Manchester.
Police did not disclose details of the plot for operational reasons.
Iran's embassy in London did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

“The investigation is still in its early stages and we are exploring various inquiries to establish any potential motivations and determine whether there may be any further risks for the public in connection with the matter,” said Dominic Murphy, head of the Metropolitan Counter-Terrorism Command.
