British prison officials demand stun guns for dangerous prisons | Prison and trial

Prison officials will demand immediate firing of electric stun guns to protect personnel in the UK’s most dangerous prisons when they meet with the Attorney General this week.

The convicted terrorist Hashem Abedi allegedly attacked three guards of HMP Frankland and a meeting with Shabana Mahmood was called on Wednesday. The two suffered severe injuries after being dipped in hot cooking fat and stabbed five times in the torso.

The bodies representing prison officials will call on all staff to have stabbing vests and provide stun guns for selected officers. It will also require the worst prisoners in the United States to impose a U.S. “Super” style regime.

The Prison Officers Association (POA) hopes to send stun guns to professional teams at least in the highest security prison to quell the attacks that threaten the lives of officials.

The devices fired 50,000 volts to incapacitate the suspect and are called the fatal choice for guns, although some uses are related to death.

Abedi, 28, was sentenced to 55 years in prison, the brother of Salman’s Manchester Arena bomber. The attack on the three officers took place in a kitchen area of the separation department of HMP Frankland.

“We now need to use the Taser as an option when facing life-threatening situations. The threat in our prisons makes us need that option.”

If they think it is threatening enough, police officers across the UK can use electric guns on the streets.

Ferhurst said that when prison officials think they are at risk with their colleagues’ living staff, electric stun guns should be provided to those who guard terrorists and other seriously convicted criminals.

He said: “Saying the staff are being attacked by people with sharp weapons, he tried to kill them. [similar to pepper spray] There is also a novel. When I call for help, what we need is a response team that has the option to use TASER.

“Sharp weapons are as deadly as swords. We will use batons and spray cans with my life in danger.

The POA requires that the stun guns be provided to the reaction team first in the highest security prison, which has separation units or their equivalents, as inmates are considered highly dangerous or destructive.

These prisons include Frankland, which took place on Saturday, April 12; Belmarsh, Abedi had previously attacked officers; All Sutton; Long Lartin and Whitemoor.

The Wednesday afternoon meeting will be between POA and Mahmood. Fairhurst said certain parts of prisons with ultimate security should adopt the “Super Max” rules.

In the program, only when three employees are handcuffed and accompanied by the three employees, the selected high-risk inmates will leave the cell and will not be mixed with other inmates, who will be limited to their fundamental rights and privileged rights.

“It’s called a separation center. We just treat them like everyone else,” Fehrst said.

He said a series of demands was justified and he was hopeful, adding that the power of feeling made the government “stupidly not considering them.”

The Justice Department declined to comment.

The government has announced a review that has banned the use of knives and is allowed to prepare meals in the kitchen. Due to Abedi’s past, the Counter-terrorism police are investigating the attack. They searched for prisons to find the location of temporary blades, as well as signs of violent Islamic extremist literature.

Also in HMP Frankland, the separatist department, is also Anjem Choudary, was sentenced to life imprisonment after guiding terrorist organizations, membership of banned organizations and encouraging support for terrorist organizations.
