Official sources said the border security forces will receive the government's last nod to add 16 battalions, including about 17,000 soldiers, and set up two forward headquarters for its Western and Eastern commands to guard the Pakistan-Bangladesh borders, respectively.
The plan has been approved by principles.

Once approved, it would be a shooting, with vigil in the east strengthening after the Pahargam massacre on April 22 after the Pakistan Front challenged again after the Pakistani Front.
Sources from the security agency told pti.
Some final approvals, they said, include the Joint Treasury sanctions trial, are expected to be approved soon.
As of now, the paramilitary forces have 193 battalions to protect these two fronts. The battalion of the border forces is composed of more than 1,000 soldiers. Therefore, the overall strength of the 16 new battalions will be about 17,000.
They said the new battalions would help BSF take on the main task of protecting the Pakistan-Bangladesh borders based on the blueprints prepared by border forces.
Sources said the force's two on-site command bases have also been approved by the Joint Interior Ministry.
They said a department will appear in Jamu to strengthen security on the international borders of Jamu and Punjab India, and a second department will conduct better surveillance in Mizoram.
The current department currently led by a deputy inspector general (DIG) rank official is located on the border of Chamu, located in Rajouri, Sunderbani, Jammu and Intreshwar Nagar. These departments are located under the rule of Mizoram and Cachar Frontier in Assam, and are located in Aizawl, Silchar and Manipur in Aizawl.
Sources said the BSF will launch the recruitment drive to hire men and women to attend these new camps and then conduct training. They added that the unit is expected to increase the units within five to six years.
According to officials, a few years ago, the powerful 2.7 million force had proposed a proposal to the Ministry of the Interior to raise 20-21 new battalions due to the main mission area of “rapidly changing security dynamics, terrain and related issues” to protect two combat operations from the anti-Mao Theatre.
They said the government finally agreed to raise 16 new camps.

The BSF guards have a total of 6,726 kilometers of the two borders, including 2,290 kilometers of the Indian-Pakistan international border and 339 kilometers of Line of Control (LOC) (LOC) (LOC), except for the front of Bangladesh 4,097 kilometers.
A total of about 1,047 kilometers of the two boundaries are due to those routes that cross river areas and the harsh jungle terrain. The force has 1,760 boundary columns along the two borders.
