The Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday approved daily tax allowances for Prantiya Rakshak Dal (PRD) personnel from Rs 395 to Rs 500.
The decision was made at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna said that the current daily allowance of Rs 395 per person will be increased by Rs 105, and Rs 500 per person per day.
The revised allowance will take effect on April 1, 2025.
He said that after the proposal is implemented, PRD personnel will receive a monthly allowance of Rs 3,150, assuming attendance for 30 days.
Mr. Kana said the move is expected to benefit 34,092 PRD personnel across the state, as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen auxiliary security forces and recognize their contribution to upholding the law and orders.
The increase will require Rs 7587 crore expenditure. PRD is committed to protecting public peace.
