Call for joint efforts to eliminate tuberculosis

Health officials call tuberculosis a contagious disease that spreads from one person to another, calling for the elimination of the disease through early identification and appropriate treatment.

KH Prasad commemorates World Tuberculosis Day at a party in the city on Monday, and Mikelu said India has been battling tuberculosis since its independence. However, if TB patients are identified and appropriate treatment is given, a TB-free India can be built.

As World Tuberculosis Day, organized by the Mysuru Regional Administration, Zilla Panchayat, District Panchayat, District Health and Family Felfare Department, District Tuberculosis Contron Center, National Tuberculosisoiss Centre Center and the MySore Medical College and Research Institute, took JATHA from the north gate of the Mysuru Palace and from the north gate of the Mysuru Palace to the ground of JK.

In addition to the officials of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, students from various nursing schools, doctors, nurses and volunteers also participated in Jatha, who passed D. Devaraj Urs Road and then reached the ground of JK.

Dr. Prasad stressed the need for a large-scale campaign to create a tuberculosis-free village at the JK Grounds’ auditorium. He warned people that tuberculosis is a dangerous and infectious disease that poses an overwhelming threat to the entire country.

He called on the government, health department officials, doctors, medical fraternity and the public to work together to eliminate tuberculosis.

The Medical Director of KR Hospital HP Shobha highlights the importance of student involvement in tuberculosis eradication. She called on students to identify patients with tuberculosis or individuals who show symptoms in their villages and communities and refer them immediately to nearby hospitals.

Meanwhile, HD Kote, Saragur, Hunsur, Kr Nagar, Periyapatna, Nanjangud and T. Narsipur Taluk were awarded several Gram Panchayats in HD Kote for becoming a TB-free Gram clip.

Mysuru District Health Official PC Kumaraswamy, District TB Control Officer Ms. Jayanth, Reproductive and Child Health Officer Siraj Ahmed, Tuberculosis Program Officer Raman Arora, etc. were also present.
